Job Overview

The role of Senior Philanthropy Manager is a key position in driving the growth and development of philanthropic programs. The successful candidate will lead the team in building strong relationships with high-value supporters, understanding their motivations for giving and aligning their cases for support.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team tackling real-world health challenges through research that leads to tangible clinical outcomes. As part of a hybrid team, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify new donor prospects, develop engagement strategies and secure gifts.

We are seeking a senior fundraiser with a proven track record in developing strategic fundraising initiatives, prospecting and cultivating relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations and other potential major donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure revenue across multiple channels
  • Lead the development of positive relationships with high-value supporters, understanding each donor's reason for giving
  • Develop engagement and recognition strategies for all donors
  • Work strategically with stakeholders to identify new donor prospects and develop relationships with donors to maximise their impact
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven success in developing strategic fundraising initiatives
  • Experience prospecting, cultivating and leading relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations and other potential major donors
  • Demonstrated success in managing major donor portfolios and leading identification of prospects, developing engagement strategies, securing gifts and ensuring long-term stewardship of high-value donors
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling grant applications, donor proposals and tailored donor communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build authentic, confident and enduring relationships with donors, researchers, senior executives, board members and institutional partners
  • Experience designing and executing sophisticated donor cultivation activities and events, strategically leveraging resources to maximise engagement and outcomes
  • Strong data analysis skills, with ability to make data-driven decisions improving outcomes
  • Excellent reporting skills, capturing essential data impacting relationship management and campaigns
  • Collaborative approach in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
