About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy Leader to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a strategic fundraising plan to achieve sustainable revenue growth and diversified streams of income.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed an annual fundraising target of $2 Million, growing this target over time with sustainability.
  • Effective engagement and reporting to senior executives and to work respectfully with cross-functional teams, including fundraising committees.
  • Support our overall vision, strategy, budget, and operational priorities, while fostering a positive culture.
  • Liaise and organise senior staff to build and retain relationships with donors.
  • Identify opportunities for new grant income to support key project and program development.
  • Develop, budget, and implement strategies and engagement plans for existing, lapsed, and new major donors and trusts and foundations; and maintain and grow an active pipeline of prospects for major donors.
  • Develop, budget, and implement strategies and engagement plans for existing, lapsed, and new grassroots, regular, workplace, and peer-to-peer donors, including working with communications teams to deliver campaigns.
  • Develop, budget, and implement strategies and engagement plans to acquire corporate donors, bequests, and sponsorship.
  • Maintain and further develop the capabilities of our donor database.
  • Manage and update donor database, CRM system, and day-to-day accounting, including receipting.
  • Manage fundraising compliance, policy, and procedures, including data and risk management.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, acquittal reports, and cases for support.
  • Plan and host events with senior staff to attract and retain donors and partners.
  • Strategically assess opportunities against organisational capacity.

About You:

  • A proven track record of success in major gifts fundraising.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in fundraising.
  • Donor acquisition experience, successfully converting leads into major gifts, donor stewardship, and management.
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, including communicating with influence, confidence, and cultural respect.
  • Ability to successfully manage a broad range of areas and activities with limited resources and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, prioritizing, and time management skills (proactive and resourceful approach with a 'can do' attitude).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in grant writing and reporting.
