Role Overview: We are in search of a seasoned Merchandise Planner to become an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in Merchandise Planning within a medium to large-scale high-volume retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough analysis of historical data to formulate seasonal category strategies, pinpointing market opportunities for growth, and determining optimal product sales mix, stock levels, retail pricing, and profit margins.
  • Creating and maintaining store grading frameworks across various distribution channels, informed by display capacity, customer demographics, and historical sales trends.
  • Developing comprehensive range plans that define the ideal product assortment in terms of breadth and depth, utilizing statistical and trend analysis to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Overseeing the Open-to-Buy process for the assigned product category.
  • Monitoring in-season trading performance metrics, recommending price adjustments or additional promotional activities to enhance retained margins.
  • Determining the allocation strategy for new product lines, driving replenishment efforts by forecasting future sales rates and identifying new store opening packages based on sales projections and market demographics.
  • Managing the setup and execution of promotional events and marketing campaigns, ensuring adherence to critical path deadlines for successful launches.
  • Providing accurate statistical insights and data analysis to internal stakeholders.
  • Participating in weekly meetings with senior management to discuss current trading performance and propose necessary actions to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Visiting retail locations to support operational goals and address any sales or range policy concerns.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience in Merchandise Planning within the fashion apparel or accessories sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen and retail insight.
  • Exceptional analytical and numerical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales, profit, and margin targets.
  • In-depth understanding of industry trends.
  • Customer-centric mindset.
  • Proactive in identifying potential challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Extensive experience with leading merchandise planning applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
