Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Head of Commercial for Play to formulate the category strategy by thoroughly analyzing customer insights and market trends to contribute to the Woolworths Strategy.
  • Curate product assortments, refine pricing strategies, and develop promotional plans aligned with the Category Strategy, utilizing Customer and Market insights to ensure alignment with Woolworths objectives.
  • Engage with Suppliers to strengthen relationships and optimize the supplier portfolio within the category to enhance sales, profitability, and customer loyalty.
  • Work alongside Woolworths Asia & the Graphic Packaging Design Team to maximize proprietary brand offerings and enhance customer loyalty where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance of all products within the category with Australian consumer legislation. Oversee that all proprietary and exclusive brand products are vetted through the Woolworths Quality Assurance processes prior to product launch. Understand Woolworths' New Product Development procedures as they pertain to the products within your category.

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience as a Category Manager within a large retail organization or FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record in crafting and implementing customer-centric category strategies that align with divisional goals, supported by robust commercial insights and data.
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing abilities with cross-functional and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to establish yourself as an industry authority in your area of responsibility within Australia.
