We are seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance and Governance Manager to join our team at Munro Footwear Group.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position within our organisation, responsible for ensuring all payroll compliance and statutory reporting requirements are met.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and State Revenue Offices regulations, as well as experience in managing payroll operations, including payroll audits, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective governance and risk management strategies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations;
  • Conduct regular payroll audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions;
  • Work closely with the payroll operations team to monitor and improve governance and compliance controls;
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of statutory obligations, including Month and Year End reports;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide expert advice on payroll compliance and governance matters;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve overall compliance and efficiency;

About You

  • Tertiary education in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, with a Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Payroll;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail or wholesale industry;
  • Proven track record of improving payroll compliance and governance processes;
  • Strong knowledge of ATO and State Revenue Offices regulations, including PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation Guarantee legislation;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results and attention to detail;
