Payroll Compliance Strategist

As a key member of the Munro Footwear Group, we are seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance Strategist to lead our payroll compliance and statutory reporting efforts. With over 290+ stores and 2500+ employees nationally, we are Australia's leading retailer and wholesaler of fashion and comfort footwear.
The successful candidate will have tertiary education in finance, human resources or a related field, with a thorough understanding of Long Service Leave, Worker's Compensation, PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation Guarantee legislation and regulations.
The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective payroll compliance strategies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Operations Team to monitor governance and compliance controls, and support the continuous improvement of payroll procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Month and Year End statutory obligations with the Australian Taxation Office and State Revenue Offices.
- Conduct T&A and Payroll audits to ensure compliance with applicable Awards, business rules, and Fair Work/ATO regulations.
- Assist with key P&C projects, including Award compliance review and remediation, T&A optimisation and HRIS implementation and maintenance.
- Tertiary Education in Finance, Human Resources or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Long Service Leave, Worker's Compensation, PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation Guarantee legislation and regulations.
- In-depth understanding of Payroll concepts and accounting fundamentals.
- Sound understanding of the General Retail Industry Award 2020.
- Exposure to the Storage Services and Wholesale Award 2020, Road and Transport Award 2020 and Clerks – Private Sector Award 2020, preferred.
