Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team in Melbourne, CBD. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for a Victorian state government organisation.

About the Role

This is a 3-month contract opportunity with a salary of up to $59/hour plus superannuation. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with two days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process fortnightly payroll for a large workforce
  • Manage overtime, allowances, and shift penalties
  • Process termination payments and leave entitlements
  • Handle salary sacrificing and deductions
  • Submit PAYG and superannuation payments
  • Process Workers Compensation claims
  • Maintain complex award interpretations
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and general ledger
  • Generate payroll reports and tax documentation
  • Manage garnishee orders and salary packaging
  • Process back pay calculations
  • Assist with payroll tax and FBT reporting

Requirements

  • Government/public sector payroll experience
