About the Role
This position is responsible for supporting organisational goals by managing the collection function associated with direct customers and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external customers. The successful candidate will develop policies and procedures for managing financial hardships and deliver on agreed KPIs and reporting framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide training, coaching and guidance to team members to uplift engagement and capability, ensuring the team achieves specified targets.
- Customer Engagement: Respond to customer enquiries relating to hardship and develop tailored solutions in accordance with Company Policy and statutory requirements.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct statistical analysis and reports on Hardship bad debts, recovery rates, bankruptcies, and delinquencies.
- Invoicing and Direct Debits: Manage the invoicing and direct debits processes, complete month end processing, regular and adhoc reporting, regular review of all ledgers with recommendations of any bad debt write-offs, including reconciliations.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish strong professional relationships with the Client Relationship team to ensure there are clear communication lines, client expectations are managed, and discrepancies are managed in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Experience in managing and coaching a high performing team.
- Accounting Function: Experience in an Accounting function, preferably Collections/Financial hardship experience.
- Training and Coaching Skills: Excellent training and coaching skills. Ability to provide feedback constructively and handle difficult conversations productively.
- Technical Skills: Advanced spreadsheet skills in Excel, including reconciliation.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicating both verbally and in writing. Demonstrating good listening and probing skills.
- Business Acumen: Strong finance, commercial and business acumen.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and prioritisation skills - meets specified deadlines and reports regularly on progress.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
- Legislative Knowledge: Demonstrates an understanding of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. Consumer Credit Code, etc).
- Numerical and Analytical Skills: Numerical, problem solving and analytical skills.
Salary and Benefits
We are offering a competitive salary of AUD $120,000 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading. Other benefits include 20 weeks paid parental leave, four extra days of leave each year, discounted mobility products and services, flexible work arrangements, career progression opportunities, education support, two paid volunteer days each year, health and wellbeing support, wellness programs and access to an Employee Assistance Program.
