DSHS BHA Investigations Manager

The State of Washington's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking a highly skilled Investigations Manager to join our Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) team. As a key member of our Risk Management Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our facilities and services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of employee misconduct and patient abuse/neglect.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to ensure consistent compliance with DSHS policy, federal, and state law.
- Provide consultation and guidance to appointing authorities and leadership teams on employee misconduct fact-finding and investigations.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify and mitigate risks associated with employee misconduct.
- Work closely with law enforcement, Human Resources, and other external agencies to ensure effective and efficient investigations.
- Prepare and present well-reasoned, well-written investigative reports and findings.
- Maintain a high-level understanding of laws, policies, and procedures governing employee and patient abuse/neglect investigations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related Behavioral Health field.
- Minimum of 1 year of investigation experience, or equivalent experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
- Investigator experience in an institutional setting.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing public disclosure, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Experience working in a political environment, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
