Job Summary

The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a driven leader to join our team as Associate Deputy Warden. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading and developing diverse groups of staff, progressive administrative experience in managing inmate populations at various custody levels, monitoring and directing unit operations, security, and inmate programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures the safety and security of staff and inmates
  • Oversees the development and operation of work, education, and recreational programs for the inmates
  • Coordinates and monitors a variety of program areas within the institution
  • Oversees inmate management to include grievances, appeals, classification, discipline, transfers, etc.
  • Conducts investigations, training, and security and physical plant inspections
  • Prepares and evaluates reports of findings and recommendations to ensure compliance with ADC policies and health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Oversees physical plant facilities in unit and inmate movements
  • Reviews and approves all unit personnel actions including training, scheduling, performance evaluations, discipline, hiring, and terminations
  • Develops and proposes policy changes regarding security and programs issues in the unit
  • Completes special projects
  • Conducts management staff meetings
  • Attends training and/or meetings as required
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience as a Correctional Officer IV or Correctional Captain
  • Bachelor's degree or actively enrolled in Criminal Justice/Corrections, Public Administration, or Behavior Science
