About the Role

Centrecare is seeking qualified Counsellors to join our programs located at our Kalgoorlie office. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing counselling services to enhance the healthy functioning of individuals, couples, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screening, assessments, and support planning to identify client needs and develop effective support plans.
  • Selecting and providing appropriate brief intervention supports for clients, whether they be clients or carers.
  • Assessing supports and ensuring they are appropriate to meeting client needs.
  • Delivering evidence-based counselling and group interventions to promote positive change and well-being.
  • Referring and assisting clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups.
  • Providing information and education to clients, carers, families, and other service providers, as well as providing and/or arranging support for carers and families.
Selection Criteria
  • A recognised qualification in Psychology, Social Work/Sciences, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, and/or Family studies and related disciplines or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in working with children and families with complex needs, such as domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, and schooling issues.
  • Experience in case management and coordination of client services.
  • Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment, and case management.
  • Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
