Trainee Family Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Trainee Family Support Worker to join our team at Hope Community Services. As a key member of our Mara Pirni Healing Place team, you will play a vital role in providing support to families affected by family violence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct child safe assessments using risk assessment tools to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
- Work in a strengths-based, child-centred, family-focused approach to strengthen family connections and promote placement prevention.
- Develop comprehensive family plans using a wrap-around approach and participate in ongoing review and evaluation of family plans.
- Provide support to parents struggling with individual issues that impact on their parenting, such as mental health, drug and alcohol issues, family violence, disability, unstable housing, and poverty.
- Assist families to improve their relationship, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Advocate for the needs of children, youth, and families in promoting access to services and resources.
- Progressing towards a relevant qualification in Community Services or related discipline (minimum Cert III) or willing to engage in formal study via a registered training organisation.
- Values alignment: ability to demonstrate and authentically promote Hope Community Services' values.
- Ability to network and establish sound working relationships with related services, especially other community agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and organisational skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy using MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and efficient.
