About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Community Support Worker. As a key member of our Home and Community Care team, you will be working in the North Metropolitan area of Perth on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Provide care and support to clients in a way that maintains their dignity and comfort, including showering, dressing, grooming, and continence support.
  • Medication Management: Assist with medication administration, ensuring clients receive the correct medication, with full training provided.
  • Daily Living Support: Offer assistance with daily living tasks, making everyday life easier for high-care clients, including domestic duties, light cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and keeping living spaces safe and welcoming.
  • Social Support: Be a friendly face and provide companionship, driving clients to shops, appointments, or community activities.
  • Care Planning: Follow personalized care plans to ensure each client's needs and preferences are met with consistency and care.
  • Independence Encouragement: Support clients to do as much as they can for themselves, using our wellness approach.
  • Client Engagement: Be part of the client's day by sharing a chat, a smile, or a listening ear that makes all the difference.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in aged care or community care, including personal care, is essential.
  • Certificate III in Aged Care: Holding a Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Australian Driver's License: A current Australian driver's license and your own reliable car are required.
  • Patient Focus: A genuine passion for supporting older people to live independently in their own homes is essential.
  • Relationship Building: The ability to build positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families is crucial.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and a caring, patient nature are essential.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team is required.
