Role Overview

We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the residential and commercial structural steel and/or LGS frame industry and a proven track record of driving business growth. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the residential and commercial sectors, focusing on LGS and structural steel frame solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape, providing insights that inform business strategy.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Proposal and Bid Management: Prepare and present proposals, bids, and tenders to prospective clients, showcasing our solutions and capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, estimating, and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Track and report on sales performance, client feedback, and market conditions, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Industry Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our brand and services.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales roles ideally within the LGS / structural steel frame industry, with a focus on residential and commercial projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Australian LGS and/or structural steel frame market, including relevant building codes and standards.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and growing market share.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Education: A relevant tertiary qualification in business, construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
