Melbourne Grammar School is seeking an experienced and energetic Australian Rules Football Director to lead our program across Melbourne. As a key member of our sports team, you will develop and deliver a comprehensive, sequential, and challenging coaching and skill development program for our students.

This role requires a strong understanding of Australian Rules Football, with the ability to design a football strategy that promotes a consistent and contemporary game style throughout all year levels and for all student abilities. You will lead and guide the use of best practice coaching and strategy, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to coaching staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing a football strategy that promotes a consistent and contemporary game style
  • Leading and guiding the use of best practice coaching and strategy
  • Overseeing player and talent development
  • Implementing a selection process and guidelines for coaches
  • Program management, including resourcing, scheduling, and oversight of matches, training sessions, pre-season programs, and camps

As a positive ambassador for the program, you will engage with the MGS community, support the Marn Grook club, and attend events as required.

  • Proven experience and a record of success in designing and managing an engaging Australian Rules Football program at a high-performance level
  • Effective leadership, planning, and administrative skills with the ability to work to timelines
  • Confidence working with and challenging highly capable young sportsmen, including elite athletes
  • Enjoyment in building positive and collaborative working relationships with students, staff, and other members of the School community
  • Level 2 Coaching Accreditation and a Level 2 First Aid certificate
