About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Health and Safety Manager to join our team at McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety management systems across our regional operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Management: Ensure the effective implementation of health and safety management systems to achieve compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Health and Safety Advice and Support: Provide expert advice and support to project health and safety teams to enable independence and capability in the safe delivery of projects.
  • Health and Safety Strategy and Implementation: Develop and implement health and safety strategies and direction across the region in accordance with the region's business plan.
  • Legal Compliance and Management Insight: Ensure legal compliance and provide management insight to inform business decisions.
  • Consistent Health and Safety Approach: Ensure a consistent, coordinated, and effective approach to health and safety across the region.
  • Health and Safety Performance Improvement: Drive continual improvement in health and safety performance year on year.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 years' operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry.
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Competent user of in-house software, with working knowledge of wider applications.
  • Experience in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures.
