About the Role:

Safety People is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join our team in Regional Queensland. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) compliance across our multi-site operations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective safety strategies to meet key targets and drive a culture of safety excellence.
  • Collaborate with teams to boost safety engagement, compliance, and overall well-being.
  • Design and deliver safety programs that empower workers to take ownership of their safety and well-being.
  • Conduct thorough incident investigations and drive timely, effective outcomes.
  • Mentor and train Health and Safety Representatives to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage safety risks.
  • Identify and manage risks effectively, promoting a proactive approach to safety.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our safety management system.
  • Support strategic planning with a focus on safety, ensuring our operations align with best practices.
  • Build and maintain a strong safety culture, delivering exceptional customer service and support to our teams.
  • Work closely with managers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to manage safety effectively in their areas of responsibility.

Your Ideal Background:

  • Proven experience in high-risk environments, with a track record of improving safety outcomes.
  • Minimum Cert IV in WHS or related qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Health and Safety, with strong knowledge of QLD WHS laws and regulations.
  • Skilled in incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety program development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  • QLD C class provisional driver's licence.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in local government or specific safety certifications.
