About the Role

McConnell Dowell Constructors is seeking a highly experienced Regional Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety management systems across our QLD/NT and NSW/ACT regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Management: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice in the construction industry.
  • Team Development: Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to project health and safety teams to enable independence and capability in safe project delivery.
  • Strategic Direction: Develop and implement health and safety strategies and direction across the region, aligned with the region's business plan.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure legal compliance and identify and mitigate risks to health and safety.
  • Performance Improvement: Drive continual improvement in health and safety performance across the region.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 10 years of operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry.
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) qualification.
  • Excellent communication and training skills, with experience in stand-up training.
  • Proficiency in in-house software and working knowledge of wider applications.
  • Experience in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures.
