About the Role

Zurich Insurance Company is seeking an experienced SME Underwriter to join our team. As an SME Underwriter, you will play a critical role in analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business, interacting with the market, and utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of moderate technical complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, ensuring a high level of service to customers.
  • Regularly interact and face the market, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of moderate technical complexity.
  • Report to the SME Underwriting Manager and be part of a team that has an understanding of managing the needs of brokers in relation to expected service levels.
  • Drive a solution-focused underwriting culture while ensuring a consistent adherence to Zurich's Underwriting guidelines and procedures across all teams.
  • Provide market feedback and competitor analysis solutions to improve Zurich's market offering.

Requirements

  • ANZIIF Associate Insurance qualifications.
  • Experience in SME Packages (preferable).
  • Insurance knowledge of Underwriting Packages business, relevant legislation and regulations governing General Insurance.
  • Knowledge of quoting systems.
  • Strong understanding of and proven relationships across all broker networks.
  • Strong business acumen/commercial mind-set.
  • Deal management experience and sales closure skills.
  • Ability to communicate and influence a broad set of stakeholders across various levels.
