About the Role

Zurich Insurance Company is seeking a skilled Technical Portfolio Specialist to join our SME General Insurance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities and developing ideas to manage performance and drive growth within the SME portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the SME market position of Zurich, including competitor proposition and pricing position.
  • Focus on customer solutions by using appropriate customer metrics to define propositions, including market research, customer surveys, and focus groups.
  • Identify portfolio underwriting strategies to maximize growth opportunities in profitable segments and mitigate underperforming segments.
  • Collaborate with the Platforms team to design and implement business rules to drive efficiency and automation within the SME segment.
  • Work with line of business heads to develop and enhance SME products and proposition.
  • Develop and deliver training to drive technical underwriting excellence and capability uplift across the SME underwriting teams.
  • Manage review and updating of underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the financial drivers of portfolio performance.
  • Strong technical experience in commercial underwriting.
  • Portfolio or product management experience.
  • Track record of developing and executing to deliver underwriting results.
  • Familiar with the relevant LOB wordings and rating tools.
  • Ability to analyze data in order to develop ideas and test assumptions.
