Demand Planning Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Demand Planning Specialist to join our team at MECCA. As a key member of our Supply Chain function, you will play a critical role in driving a world-class demand function that connects our brands to their sales targets, and our customers to their products of choice.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Own the Demand Planning Process: Develop and implement demand planning processes within S&OP, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in demand forecasting.
  2. Drive Demand Consensus: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive demand consensus and prepare for demand reviews.
  3. Ensure Data Accuracy: Ensure data accuracy in historical and new data setup, maintaining a single source of truth.
  4. Improve Forecast Accuracy: Continuously improve forecast accuracy in alignment with business initiatives to meet MECCA's customer availability goal.
  5. Review Forecast Consumption: Review forecast consumption weekly to identify and address abnormal or trending demand.
  6. Manage System Forecast Performance: Manage system forecast performance, adjusting forecast methods and collaborating with the supply operations team on inventory policy adjustments.
  7. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with store operations, merchandise, digital, marketing, and supply chain functions to generate a consensus forecast.
  8. Partner with Internal Brand Teams: Partner with internal brand teams on forecast creation for new items and ranges, including cannibalization strategies and ranging levels.
  9. Work with Supply Planner and Freight Coordinator: Collaborate with the supply planner and freight coordinator on demand assumptions to assist with a robust supply plan.
Requirements
  1. Extensive Demand Planning Experience: Proven experience in demand planning, ideally within the retail or FMCG industry.
  2. Commercial Mindset: Strong commercial mindset and analytical skills to drive business outcomes.
  3. Change Agent: Experience as a change agent and driving transformation within a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to problem-solve and think critically to drive business outcomes.
  6. Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain or a related discipline desirable.
