Child Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a Child Psychiatry trainee to fill a unique role as an Infant Mental Health Fellow. This position offers the opportunity to develop clinical skills in working with infants and young children who experience mental health problems.

You will work closely with an experienced IMH consultant psychiatrist and team coordinator to gain expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and interventions for infants aged 0-4 years.

Additionally, you may also participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and other activities as opportunities arise.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess and diagnose infants aged 0-4 years presenting with mental health issues
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for infants and their families
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Participate in research activities to enhance understanding of infant mental health
Requirements:
  • Current National Criminal Record Check
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Compliance with immunisation procedure
  • AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner
