Job Description

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong invites applications for an Educational Development Specialist to join their team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that involves coordinating the Respectful Relationships, Child Safety and Human Sexuality Education (RRCSHSE) Framework across the Diocese. The successful applicant will work closely with members of the ILW, CLEM service areas, and others in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff, parents/carers and others.

The role requires supporting the coaching of school teams in implementing a Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L) approach, building from the applicant's strong foundation in understanding the ethos of a Catholic School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality professional learning experiences for school and system staff, parents and students.
  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to design and deliver effective teaching programs.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the RRCSHSE Framework across the Diocese.
  • Support schools in implementing a PB4L approach.
Requirements
  • A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a capacity to inspire staff, build teacher collective efficacy and bring about change.
  • Capacity to engage with an inquiry mindset and professionally partner with colleagues, parents and the wider school community.
  • NESA accreditation to teach in NSW and minimum 5 years teaching experience.
  • Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $100,000 - $120,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. A comprehensively insured and serviced vehicle is available while working in the role, and other benefits include salary packaging, a mobile phone and laptop provided as tools of trade, and additional leave provision.
