About Anglicare

We are a leading and highly regarded community non-profit organisation in Australia, dedicated to making a positive impact on people's lives. Our vision is to see Jesus Christ honoured, lives enriched, and communities strengthened.

For over 160 years, we have been serving people in need by providing care to older people and services to the vulnerable. We aim to attract capable and mission-aligned individuals to join our team and contribute to our purpose.

The Family and Life Skills Education Team at Anglicare is seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to fill the role of Seniors' Life-Stage Educator. As part of this team, you will play a crucial role in equipping, training, and supporting people across the Sydney Diocese to navigate the 'Seniors' life stage (65yrs plus).

This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while developing your skills and expertise. You will work closely with Anglican churches and other key stakeholders to deliver evidenced-based courses, workshops, and resources that cater to the needs of seniors.

About the Role

As a Seniors' Life-Stage Educator, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering education programs that address the needs of seniors, including grief and loss, major life transitions, grandparenting, physical and mental health, and wellbeing.
  • Teaching the Introductory Pastoral Care Course (IPCC) in partnership with churches, ensuring participants receive high-quality training and support.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Program Manager to design and implement effective programs that meet the needs of recipients.
  • Maintaining relationships with external providers and service partners, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place.

About You

We are seeking a candidate who embodies enthusiasm, energy, and a passion for serving the community. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent qualification in aged care or counselling.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in delivering psycho-educational courses and seminars related to seniors' life stages.
  • Theological study at Certificate Level or above would be an asset.
  • A valid NSW Driver's License and Working with Children's Check.

Why Join Anglicare?

We offer a warm and welcoming culture, ongoing training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and not-for-profit salary packaging benefits. You will also enjoy experienced leadership, employee assistance programs, fitness passports, and access to discounts from over 400 retailers.
