About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Education Officer to join the Intensive Learning Centre (ILC) at the South Coast Correctional Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement education assessment and planning processes to determine offender participation in appropriate programs and services.
  • Conduct classes with offenders, ensuring learning needs, styles, and interests are met under the principles of adult learning.
  • Create course outlines and teaching resources that meet accredited qualifications.
  • Evaluate programs through validation and moderation of assessments.
  • Coordinate education and training services in the ILC, including access to computers, library, and external courses.
  • Maintain administrative duties related to teaching.
  • Support offender case management by providing advice on education and employment pathways.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field, incorporating subjects qualifying the employee to teach in the required learning area.
  • Graduate Diploma or higher in Education from a recognized university.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive during work hours.
