About the Role

The Financial Capability Specialist will work with individuals, families, and communities to address financial literacy issues and concerns. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of domestic and family violence, its impact on women and children, and the diverse drivers and contributing factors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and document observations accurately and objectively in case notes.
  • Develop and implement financial literacy education programs to support clients in achieving financial capability.
  • Work collaboratively with other key stakeholders to remove obstacles to financial wellbeing and capability.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Welfare Studies with substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with men who have used violence in their relationships, including communicating in a non-judgmental and non-confrontational manner.
  • A trauma-informed approach to navigate complex dynamics sensitively, establish clear boundaries, and avoid inadvertently enabling harmful behavior.
