About the Role

We are seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to join our Animal Ethics Committee at Monash University. As a member of this committee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the ethical, humane, and responsible care and use of animals for scientific purposes.

The committee is comprised of members from various categories, including veterinarians, scientists, animal welfarists, and lay members. Each category brings valuable perspectives to the review process, and we are seeking individuals with expertise in veterinary science and animal welfare.

As a member of the Animal Ethics Committee, you will be responsible for reviewing research and teaching activities involving animals, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of animal care and use. You will also participate in discussions to ensure robust review of projects and effective operation of the committee.

We offer a competitive honorarium to support costs associated with performing your role and attending meetings. You will also receive training support and the opportunity to develop knowledge related to the legislative framework governing animal use in research and teaching.
