Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the full P&L and month-end process for one of our largest entities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and confidence in systems, processes, and month-end results.
- Prepare and deliver month-end reporting and financial reporting for this business unit and allocated ERP systems, driving month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accurate journal entries, and analysis and commentary on monthly results.
- Ensure correct treatment according to accounting standards and compliance with SOX, as well as timely and accurate delivery of all reporting.
- Lead a team of Financial Accountants, providing guidance and support to drive business outcomes.
- Deliver inventory variance analysis and present to leadership teams across the business.
- Prepare monthly financial accounts for the New Zealand business, reconciling P&L and balance sheet accounts with effective supporting documentation.
- Review expense line items, ensuring proper accrual and coding, and provide analysis and commentary on expenses and legal entity performance.
- Support the business in executing annual audits and external reporting obligations.
- Collaborate with Finance Managers to ensure adequate and relevant financial information is available to drive sales and efficiencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualifications.
- A strong understanding of large inventory-based businesses with high volume SKU environments and complex multisystem environments.
- Experience with Pronto and Great Plains ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to shape positive working relationships and drive results through ambiguity.
- A passion for continuous improvement and taking things to the next level.
- Experience with New Zealand entities is highly regarded.
