About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Culinary Director to lead our kitchen team and provide high-quality dining experiences for our residents. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and presentation of meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that are nutritious, delicious, and tailored to the needs of our residents
  • Lead a team of catering assistants to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations
  • Collaborate with the lifestyle team to plan and execute events and activities that promote socialization and engagement among residents
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, as well as relevant regulations and policies
  • Manage kitchen budgets and resources to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a aged care or hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards, as well as relevant regulations and policies
