Industry Growth Leader
We are seeking an experienced Industry Growth Leader to drive business development and marketing services. This role will involve leading industry-focused teams to execute profitable growth opportunities and establish market positions.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the industry, including key matters, stakeholders, influencers, competitors, client footprint, and market position. They will also possess excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute industry strategic plans in alignment with firm strategy and collaborate with key partners and the broader team to unlock profitable growth.
- Work closely with partners, consultants, and lawyers to connect people across the business and demonstrate leadership by delivering industry priorities.
- Be a Subject Matter Expert with deep understanding of the industry.
- Coach partners and lawyers with strategic business development advice.
- Lead pitches and collaborate with colleagues to apply industry insights to bids where SME expertise is required.
- Drive client conversations to maintain client intelligence, nurture relationships, and uphold service excellence.
- Identify opportunities across business units, priority areas, clients, and geographies, supporting cross-business unit teams to pursue opportunities and strengthen pipelines.
- Qualify and develop high-quality client-facing materials and precedents with compelling value propositions.
- Collaborate with the brand/marketing team to validate, design, and deliver client and market engagement strategies, prioritizing industry objectives through integrated marketing campaigns.
- Establish internal and external networks, demonstrating leadership qualities by setting best BD practice standards and sharing insights.
- Apply a commercial lens to industry and client development, understanding profitability levers and reporting financial performance to enhance decision making.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in marketing, business, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in business development or equivalent work experience; experience in a professional services environment will be well regarded, as will experience and understanding of the industry.
- Proven ability in strategic planning and client account management to deliver commercial outcomes.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Collaborative approach, nurturing relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
This role requires a commercially focused leader with excellent analytical and planning skills to drive revenue and relationship-enhancing marketing strategies.
