Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Channels Digital Risk and Control Manager to join our team in Australia. As a key business partner for the Digital business within WPB Channels, you will be responsible for understanding, assessing, and helping to manage risks associated with the adoption of new technology, expansion of digital services, and implementation of new ways of working.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement operational controls for digital products and services to ensure effective risk management.
  2. Develop end-to-end digital risk management processes to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  3. Provide expert advice and guidance on maintaining an effective internal control environment and ensuring key risks are addressed at the right stage of implementation.
  4. Facilitate and represent as Secretariat for Digital Risk Forum to oversee the Digital Risk and Control Landscape, including oversight over material issues for escalation.
  5. Transform the digital risk and control maturity curve through insights into emerging risk, building automated monitoring programs, and providing real-time insights into the control environment.
  6. Perform incident analysis, root cause issue identification, and deep dive controls reviews as required across the WPB digital and broader Channels business.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and make informed decisions.
  2. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams.
  3. Comfort in challenging existing processes, advice, and policies that are outdated, with a passion for making the bank operate more efficiently.
  4. Understanding of digital banking and customer-facing technology, preferably gained through experience in consulting, fintechs, and digital risk roles.
  5. Experience in conducting control reviews and implementing recommendations or monitoring the performance of key controls and reacting accordingly.
  6. Strong modeling skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  7. An understanding of key risk areas, risk taxonomy, and controls library relevant to banking services, particularly for non-financial risk.
  8. Familiarity with agile delivery principles would be beneficial, or experience working with change and transformation programs.
