About the Role

The Government of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Operations Officer to join the Strata Building Bond and Inspections team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing exceptional customer service to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze building inspection reports to identify defective building work and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and codes.
  • Support data extraction and information gathering activities to improve efficiencies and enhance compliance.
  • Oversee the lodgement of building bonds and ensure mandatory documentary provision in the early stages of the strata building bond and inspections scheme.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement legislative reforms and improve regulatory compliance.
  • Provide specialist regulatory knowledge and skills to support the development of new policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of legislative requirements and regulatory frameworks, including the Strata Schemes Management Act and Regulations, National Construction Code, and Australian Standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong stakeholder relationships and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and champion harmonized approaches to processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a growth mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
