Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- To provide culturally responsive health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients with life-limiting conditions and their families and carers at CHQ HHS
- Promotes cultural safety to support families in identifying and voicing their cultural beliefs and practices
- Provides expert advice to the Paediatric Palliative Care Service (PPCS) team to ensure cultural beliefs and practices are acknowledged and accommodated.
- Provide bereavement support to young people, their families and their communities as they anticipate or grapple with loss and experience grief.
- Lead service improvement, cross-cultural education, sharing of knowledge and mentorship to strengthen delivery of culturally responsive, holistic and well-coordinated care to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander young people, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
