Workshop Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee our Mining Equipment Division in Unanderra. This role offers a unique chance to drive operational excellence and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role
  • Lead and motivate a team of skilled tradespeople, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Oversee workshop performance, focusing on safety standards, quality expectations, and cost control.
  • Drive a strong safety culture by overseeing SWMS, pre-starts, and toolbox talks, ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Manage fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance across a range of diesel-powered mining equipment (LHDs, Drift Runners, RTV fleet, etc.).
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance programs, refurbishments, and component replacement strategies, maximizing equipment efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards, maintaining a high level of operational integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workshop operations, promoting a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical, or Fabrication trade, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of underground or surface mining equipment, with solid budgeting and cost management experience.
  • A proactive, accountable, and safety-first mindset, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Valid driver's licence (essential), with forklift licence and other tickets advantageous, and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening.
