
Doorways Emergency Relief Support Specialist

Our Doorways program provides person-centered care to community members experiencing financial or other forms of hardship through financial and material emergency relief.
As a strength-based and trauma-informed practitioner, you will engage people through early intervention and address long-term disadvantage to alleviate financial hardship and break the cycle of poverty.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct interviews and assessments for emergency relief with community members in accordance with Doorways guidelines.
- Determine the assistance to be provided in line with Doorways standards of practice.
- Assist community members to access support services through referral and advocacy to service providers within and external to The Salvation Army, where appropriate.
- Escalate complex or unresolved matters.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Diploma level (preferred) or Certificate IV (minimum) qualification in a related field (Community Services etc).
- Experience working in the community services sector.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds would be beneficial.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment (contact centre) would be highly regarded (for Phone Line ER Assessors).
