Emergency Relief Assessor Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as an Emergency Relief Assessor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing community member needs and determining appropriate financial assistance and/or referrals. This is a full-time position, located on the Sunshine Coast.

About the Role:

This role is crucial in providing holistic financial support to individuals and families seeking short-term financial assistance and ongoing financial management support services.

As an Emergency Relief Assessor, you will work collaboratively with Corps to actively support the local mission delivery model.

  • Conduct interviews and assessments for emergency relief (ER) with community members over the phone in accordance with Doorways guidelines.
  • Determine the assistance to be provided in line with Doorways standards of practice.
  • Community members are assisted to access support services through referral and advocacy to service providers within and external to The Salvation Army, where appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Diploma level or Certificate IV qualification in a related field (Community Services etc).
  • Experience working in the community services sector is desirable.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds would be beneficial.
  • A current and valid QLD Working with Children's Check.
