Emergency Response Specialist

As an Emergency Relief Assessor, you will play a vital role in providing support to community members who are experiencing financial crisis or hardship.
Our team works within a strength-based context with holistic principles to build individual capacity and well-being.
The Salvation Army Doorways program is dedicated to delivering person-centred care to those in need. As an Emergency Relief Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing community member needs and determining appropriate financial assistance.
You will:
- Conduct interviews and assessments over the phone, in accordance with Doorways guidelines
- Determine the assistance to be provided, based on Doorway's standards of practice
- Support community members to access additional services through referral and advocacy
- Work collaboratively with local mission teams to deliver effective solutions
This full-time role is based in Nambour, Sunshine Coast, offering a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Working effectively in a fast-paced contact centre environment
- Building strong relationships with community members and stakeholders
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A Diploma level qualification in a related field (such as Community Services)
- Experience working in the community services sector
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A current QLD Working with Children's Check
- Ability to undergo a National Police Check
