Emergency Relief Specialist

The Salvation Army Doorways program offers holistic support to community members facing financial hardship or other forms of distress.

We prioritize trauma-informed practices, working within a strength-based framework with a focus on building individual capacity, resilience, and well-being.

This role is key to our Emergency Relief team's success on the Sunshine Coast, where you will collaborate with local communities to assess needs and provide appropriate assistance.

  • Conduct interviews and assessments for emergency relief in accordance with Doorways guidelines.
  • Determine the most suitable support based on Doorways standards of practice.
  • Assist community members in accessing additional services through referrals and advocacy.

You will require:

  • A Diploma-level qualification in a related field such as Community Services.
  • Prior experience working in the community services sector would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and cultures would be advantageous.
  • Background in a fast-paced contact centre environment would be highly regarded.
