About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at The Westin Perth. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the pastry operations and ensuring the highest quality of food and service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the pastry team to achieve exceptional results and high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to enhance our pastry offerings and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless execution of events and functions, including weddings, conferences, and banquets.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Train and develop pastry team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in menu planning, inventory management, and other culinary-related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior pastry role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • Proven track record of success in leading a pastry team and achieving high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
