About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at The Westin Perth. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the pastry operations and ensuring the highest quality of baked goods and desserts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pastry team to achieve exceptional results and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless execution of events and functions.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Train and develop junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with the sous chef to achieve business objectives and drive team performance.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior pastry role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
- Proven track record of leading a team and achieving exceptional results.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and quality.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
