Business Development Representative Role Overview

As a Business Development Representative, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and converting small to medium-sized businesses into active merchants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect and acquire new clients through targeted outreach, relationship-building, and sales strategies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive outreach plans to create a pipeline of high-potential merchants.
  • Own the full sales cycle – from initial prospecting, pitch development, objection handling, to closing deals.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding experiences, troubleshoot early-stage issues, and provide merchant support to foster long-term relationships.
  • Drive upsells and product adoption by building strong merchant relationships and tailoring solutions to their needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape regional sales strategies and develop campaigns that drive growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Sales-Driven: Proven experience in B2B sales, field sales, door-to-door sales, or similar environments.
  • Results-Oriented: Thrive in target-driven environments and consistently exceed KPIs.
  • People-Focused: Excellent communication, rapport-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilient & Agile: Remain composed under pressure and adapt quickly to change.
  • Growth Mindset: A desire to learn, grow, and excel in a dynamic fintech environment.
  • Face-to-Face Sales Experience is essential (retail, B2B, hospitality, or telco considered).
  • Candidates with previous exposure to fintech, F&B industry, or startup environments are highly preferred.
