Job Description

We are looking for a skilled cook with expertise in various cuisines and wok cooking to manage daily kitchen operations, ensure high standards in food preparation and presentation, and contribute to menu development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the kitchen for daily service, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Manage inventory and food costing to minimize waste and optimize profits.
  • Maintain high standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance, adhering to NSW food safety regulations.
  • Supervise the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, promoting a culture of excellence and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to menu development, suggesting new dishes and flavors that appeal to a diverse customer base.
  • Schedule staff and assist with HR processes, including induction and training for new kitchen team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of cooking techniques and practices, with a focus on culinary innovation and creativity.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing kitchen teams and driving results-oriented performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, remaining calm and composed in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent knife-handling skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Formal culinary training or a culinary degree, with previous experience in kitchen management and leadership roles.
