Rehabilitation Support Specialist

Our justice services focus on individuals involved in the criminal justice system or transitioning from prisons and youth detention centers.

We deliver high-quality programs centered around social justice principles. Activities encompass group programs, engagement events, and individual support for young people aligned to values: Diversity, Accountability, Respect, Determination, and Inspire.

Supported by Elders and staffed by a gender-inclusive team of youth workers, activities aim to build resilience, knowledge, and capacity across various domains:

The key responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Support Specialist include:

Service Delivery/Practice Framework
  • Facilitate restorative processes between diverse parties and settings.
  • Conduct preparation and follow-up to engage participants effectively.
  • Maintain program awareness and presence through collaborative working relationships.
  • Participate in core capability training, action learning, and practice reflection opportunities.
  • Engage with program participants and deliver services consistent with guidelines and legislation.
Leadership, Teamwork, Relationships, and Supervision
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team contributing to shared goals and reflective practice.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Communication, Continuous Improvement, and Professional Standards
  • Ensure all written and verbal communication is professional and appropriate.
  • Commitment to ongoing quality improvement processes.
  • Compliance with relevant legislation, Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Culture
  • Demonstrate respect and acceptance of diversity at all times.
  • Interact with staff, participants, and stakeholders in an inclusive, respectful manner.

Collaboration and Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with Youth Workers and the Youth Services Manager to support high-quality individual supports.
  • Support the Youth Services Manager to develop and maintain community engagement, referral networks, and program access pathways.
  • Contribute to managing and documenting critical incidents.
