
Restorative Healing Facilitator

Our justice programs provide support for people who are involved in the criminal justice system or who are exiting prisons and youth justice precincts. Our program participants are assessed as high risk/ high needs and have limited social and family networks, accommodation and post release support options. They often have multiple and complex health concerns.
We aim to deliver high quality programs that embody the principles of social justice. Activities include group programs, engagement events and individual support for young people, aligned to Dardi's values (Diversity - Accountability - Respect - Determination - Inspire). Supported by female and male Elders to strengthen cultural support and connection for young people, staffed by a gender inclusive team of youth workers, all activities aim to build resilience, knowledge, and capacity across 10 domains:
- Culture (Country, Community, Identity)
- Physical and Mental Health
- AOD
- Communication and connection
- Respect and healthy relationships'
- Education and re-engagement
- Physical activities and Therapeutic exercises
- Goal setting
- Life skills
- Support for family members.
- Peer mentoring
**The key responsibilities of the Restorative Healing Facilitator/Coordinator are**:
**Service delivery/ Practice Framework**
- Convene and co-convene restorative processes between diverse parties and across a range of settings.
- Conduct preparation and follow up to ensure participants engage with restorative processes in meaningful and constructive ways.
- Maintain program awareness and presence by developing collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders in both statutory and non-statutory settings.
- Participate in core capability training, action learning and practice reflection opportunities to expand practice skills.
- To engage and build positive and constructive relationships with program participants.
- To deliver services consistent with program guidelines, relevant legislation and funding agreements.
- To maintain appropriate files, records and statistics to facilitate good practice and accountability.
- Understanding the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume work environment
- Monthly data is accurately maintained and provided to management as required.
- Other duties as required.

- Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to group outputs and reflective practice.
- Actively participate in regular supervision with the line manager, staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

- Ensure all written and verbal communication is professional and appropriate for the purposes of carrying out the responsibilities of your role and in accordance with the professional standards and values of the organisation.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement processes.
- Compliance with relevant legislation, Code of Conduct, policies and procedures of Dardi Munwurro.
- Fulfil the reporting and administrative requirements associated with the position.

**Collaboration and Accountabilities**
- Collaborating with Youth Workers and the Youth Services Manager when required in supporting high-quality individual supports for young people including intake, assessment, case planning, case work, case review and exit planning that respond to the needs, aspirations and risks of the young people.
- Support the Youth Services Manager to develop and maintain of community engagement, referral networks and program access pathways with key stakeholders (e.g., Local Aboriginal Community, police, courts, child protection, youth justice, legal services, family services, schools, education/skills providers, employment, health services, recreational groups, etc.)
- Support collaboration with other services and programs (e.g., Legal, Mental Health, Sexual health, LGBTQIA+, Sports and Creative Arts) that maximise access opportunities for young people, including co-delivery of group programs.
- Contribute to management and documenting of critical incidents in accordance with Dardi Munwurro policy and procedures.
- Contribute to collating information for program evaluation, reporting and funding acquittals.
- Contribute to a review and development of youth service activities and practice processes.
- Model appropriate behaviour and facilitate positive communication between young people.
