Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Management Specialist to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will have a strong background in risk management, particularly in the wealth products space.

About the Role

This is a permanent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who can assist in managing, analyzing, and developing the Product Governance framework for our firm. You will be responsible for identifying, escalating, and managing Product and Suitability Risks, as well as coordinating and maintaining the Approved Product List.

You will work closely with our teams to ensure standardisation and consistency in risk management policies and procedures applicable across the business relating to product and suitability risk. Additionally, you will contribute to and assist with the Product & Investment Risk Committee as a member of the committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management, analysis, and development of the Product Governance framework;
  • Analyze, assess, and supervise Product and Suitability Risk for the Firm;
  • Maintain the Approved Product List and perform due diligence on client books of proposed new Financial Advisors (FAs);
  • Review and approve new products as part of the Capital Markets Committee; and,
  • Perform ongoing review and performance of tasks relating to compliance with the Product Governance Policy of the business.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Risk Management or Product roles from a top-tier firm;
  • A university degree in Finance, Business, or Economics; and,
  • Recognised industry qualifications, preferably including experience within wealth management and/or banking.
