About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team at Infinite Talent Group. As a key member of our technical operations team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our client personnel and contractors to deploy infrastructure, operating systems, and applications, utilizing infrastructure-as-Code approaches for our Data Management & Analysis Platform (DMAP) solution.
  2. Attend Technical Meetings: Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, technical design workshops, and other relevant meetings to ensure seamless project execution.
  3. Provide Progress Updates: Offer regular updates on current tasks, including through GitLab tickets, to ensure transparency and accountability.
  4. Understand Client Requirements: Ensure all technical work meets client requirements, fostering a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
  5. Communicate Effectively: Constructively communicate with colleagues, product owners, internal clients, and managers to drive project success.
  6. Work in a Small Team Environment: Contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere, providing knowledge/skills transfer to other team members.
  7. Record and Maintain Files: Accurately record and maintain files/information in accordance with client requirements.
  8. Full-Time Commitment: Commit to a full-time schedule, up to 40 hours per week, to ensure the success of our projects.
Requirements
  1. Linux Administration: Proficient experience in Linux administration, including Ubuntu and RHEL.
  2. Containerisation Technologies: Strong understanding of containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  3. Automation Tooling: Experience with automation tooling, including Ansible.
  4. Virtualisation Technologies: Familiarity with virtualisation technologies, including VMware and vSphere.
  5. Storage Hardware Technologies: Knowledge of storage hardware technologies, such as NAS, JBOD, VSAN, and RAID.
  6. Back-up Systems: Experience with back-up systems, including VEEAM.
  7. Minimum 5 Years of Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  8. Team Player: Must be a team player, able to work collaboratively and effectively.
  9. Negative Vetting Level 1: Must have Negative Vetting Level 1 or the ability to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements
  1. Centralised Logging: Experience with centralised logging, including Elasticsearch and Splunk.
  2. Cyber Security Practices: Understanding of cyber security practices, including the Australian Government Information Security Manual and Essential 8.
  3. Issue Tracking and Collaboration Tools: Experience with issue tracking and collaboration tools, including Git, GitLab, and ServiceNow.
  4. Code Management and Tracking: Knowledge of code management and tracking, including Git and GitLab.
  5. Networking: Familiarity with networking, including switching, routing, ACLs, VPN, proxies, and IPSEC.
  6. Monitoring Systems: Experience with monitoring systems, including CheckMK and SNMP.
  7. NoSQL Databases: Knowledge of NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and Cassandra.
  8. SQL Databases: Familiarity with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  9. Web Servers: Experience with web servers, including nginx.
  10. Message Queues/Event Streaming: Knowledge of message queues/event streaming, including RabbitMQ and Kafka.
  11. Workflow Orchestration: Familiarity with workflow orchestration, including Nifi, Prefect, and Airflow.
  12. Cloud Platform Providers: Experience with cloud platform providers, including Azure, AWS, or Google.
