About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at Sikorsky Australia. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of our multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up administrator and service accounts
  • Maintaining system documentation
  • Tuning system performance
  • Installing system-wide software
  • Allocating mass storage space
  • Interacting with users and evaluating vendor products
  • Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software
  • Coordinating installation and providing backup recovery
  • Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in delivering a high level of systems administration support
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field
  • Significant knowledge and experience within technologies and domains including Linux, UNIX & Windows, troubleshooting communications networks, deployment of new hardware, heating and cooling paradigms in computing environments, networking standards
  • Significant experience working with a range of technologies within a professional ICT environment
  • A degree in Information Technology would be advantageous
  • Understanding of principles, theories, and concepts and ability to apply these to solve problems
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including ability to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
