Job Description

As an Empowering Independence Specialist, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to participate in community activities, develop social connections, and pursue their interests and hobbies.

  • Assist clients with disabilities to access the community and engage in social activities.
  • Support clients in developing social skills and building meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to create individualized support plans.
  • Provide transportation and accompany clients to community outings and appointments.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during community activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful towards clients.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and undergo a criminal record check.
  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $67,500 - $77,000 per annum based on SCHADS Award - Social & Community Services rates.
