Job DescriptionAs an Empowering Independence Specialist, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to participate in community activities, develop social connections, and pursue their interests and hobbies.
- Assist clients with disabilities to access the community and engage in social activities.
- Support clients in developing social skills and building meaningful relationships.
- Collaborate with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to create individualized support plans.
- Provide transportation and accompany clients to community outings and appointments.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during community activities.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or a related field.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful towards clients.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and undergo a criminal record check.
- First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
The estimated salary for this role is $67,500 - $77,000 per annum based on SCHADS Award - Social & Community Services rates.
