About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Ability Action Australia. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable members of our community by acting as an advocate and role model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans that promote the well-being and independence of our clients.
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies utilizing a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices.
  • Build the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support our clients in their lives, including family, carers, and friends.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Supervise and shadow Behaviour Support Practitioners to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality support.
Requirements
  • Completed a degree-level qualification as an allied health professional (e.g., OT, Speech, Social Work).
  • Experience creating, implementing, and reviewing behaviour support plans.
  • Registration as a Proficient, Advanced, or Specialist status as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • A genuine passion for working in the Disability sector.
  • Supervision experience (highly regarded).
