About the Role

Brisbane City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ward Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Ward Office, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Ward Office, including managing in-progress requests and maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead the Ward Office team in delivering effective customer service, resolving complex customer queries, and ensuring a positive experience for all residents.
  • Research and interpret legislation, policy, and guidelines to support the councillor in resolving community queries.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems, working collaboratively with the Ward Office team and other Council departments.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and information decks, handling sensitive information in accordance with Council policy.
  • Represent Brisbane City Council at local events and connect with residents to build strong relationships and promote Council services.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in customer service, administration, and leadership, with a strong focus on resolving complex customer queries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers and Council officers.
  • Strong organizational skills, including diary management, document organization, and preparation of resources for meetings.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
